Disease Research

Making Integrated Healthcare Research the Reality.

Inderbitzin Solutions connects global informatic-driven healthcare research for a variety of disease and patient populations. Our novel approach, proven technology, and expertise enable researchers to address the ever-expanding and urgent problem: integrated, science-based, usable, relevant, and harmonized global health data.

The uniqueness of our approach is manifested in a modular, scalable platform encapsulating deep, integrated data optimizing researchers' time, increasing their productivity and reducing the cost of establishing study environments.

The problem with data sources

Let's face it, the problem we face in health research is manifold

  1. The sheer volume of data

  2. The usability of the data

  3. The sprawl of data

  4. The lack of common vocabularies across data sources

  5. The cost of obtaining healthcare data

Our approach to integration and translation, solves many, if not all, of these challenges.

Give to Get

Our data crowdsourcing approach helps us gather new data and democratize its availability. When a researcher in industry or academia begins a project, they often start with a clean sheet of paper. Not any more.

We remove the costs of technology expertise, computational power, and storage barriers. No longer is prior work discarded. Now the research teams construct holistically new purpose-built environments.

Fatefully, environments have 80%+ commonalities with previous efforts. Our discussions with 200+ global medical research groups provide us with a clear set of use cases we will implement to help expand analytical and decision support for a variety of disease areas and communities.

Ingesting and Mapping Data at Scale

Perhaps our greatest solution capability is ingesting and mapping data at scale. A few years ago, gathering and making sense of data from several unrelated sources was a significant barrier to success. We have developed a multi-function data-type agnostic ingesting and mapping service providing current, relevant data seamlessly to our clients, future-proofing investments and usability.

  1. The data pipeline, integration, and, mapping, services are located outside the firewall in a proprietary staging area. We do this for many reasons, but paramount among them is the security and integrity of our main data stores. We manage the integrity and uniqueness of the data before it is integrated into our repository.

  2. Our modular ingestion services are capable of proprietary and standard connections of different modalities. We support direct API, FHIR, structured batch, unstructured batch, and even interactive data entry. This makes able to support researchers' diverse requirements for data location, speed, currency, etc. Importantly, as new data types and sharing technologies emerge, we will add them to the environment ensuring researchers have access to the "latest and greatest". In short, we are agnostic to the data we ingest, resulting in the best available data with minimal up-front time and energy.

  3. Data integrity protocols perform extensive integrity and security checks. Data is promoted through the pipeline where it passes or conversely, is rejected if it fails.

  4. Proprietary mapping protocols direct data through a series of mapping algorithms based on industry-standard vocabularies. Where no standards exist, for example, genomic data that may not be supported in OMP, we advance and extend the standard. We work with the standards organizations, such as the OHDSI inclusion of our extensions.

  5. As a value-added byproduct, our solution's architecture supports existing data sources increase their fidelity. With our solution new, often overlooked, yet relevant connections between incoming data streams previously would remain hidden in less sophisticated approaches, but with I.S., these insights are now discoverable and made available.

  6. When the data pipelining is complete, our harmonized collection of data, global sources is ready for analysis, research, clinical trial selection and support, clinical operations, and more.

Making Sense of the Data

Our solution provides several interactive tools to our users' data interrogation and examination:

1. Bring Your Own (BYO) Analytics model.

2. BYO Visualization tool model.

3. Cohort creator and explorer.

4. Patient journey creator and explorer.

5. Approachable, easy-to-use user interface.

Our user experience is a mobile-first design. It is easy to use, friendly and approachable by participants in the entire healthcare ecosystem. Because of this design, our user experience is the same regardless of the endpoint device (computer, tablet, phone, point of care devices, etc.). The only limitations are network connectivity and the device itself.
